Teacher Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support our early years and primary education programs at Bluebird British International School. This role involves working closely with teachers to foster an engaging and nurturing learning environment for young students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and possess strong interpersonal skills.

I. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Classroom Support:

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
  • Provide  one-on-one  or  small  group  support  to  students  as  needed, helping with tasks such as reading, writing, and basic math.
  • Supervise and engage students during classroom activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials iincluding worksheet, homework, art and craft materials and exam paper
  • Help  with  classroom  organization  and  tidiness  to  ensure  safe  and healthy learning environment.

Student Care:

  • Assist students during meal times, support students with toileting needs, including helping with restroom  routines, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring that students are comfortable and clean.
  • Monitor students’ progress and behavior, providing feedback and support to enhance their learning experience.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and address any issues fast and effectively.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, encouraging positive interactions and self-confidence.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the lead teacher or school administration.

II. Qualifications

  • Education: High School Graduate to Associate’s degree or higher  in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team, and proficiency in classroom management techniques.
  • Average English proficiency is acceptable. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and staff is important.
  • Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to the well-being and development of children.
