Field Trip to Amarak Farm

Bluebird British International School students went on an incredibly exciting field trip to Amarak Farms today. The Grey Geese, Silver Sparrows and Golden Eagles spent the morning touring the farm, meeting the animals and exploring the grounds. The students were asked to consider the techniques used for growing vegetables throughout the year and how the farm used recycling to promote sustainability. The farm produces a variety of organic fruits and vegetables including tomatoes, chilies, papaya and guava. Sustainable growth is not only a core concept of many of the IPC lessons, it is a mindset that is absolutely necessary in the 21st Century. As they toured the farm, teachers pointed out the various animals and plants that create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere along with a sustainable business. This was an excellent example of the unique and incredibly broad education Bluebird offers students. Both inside and outside the classroom, teachers are reinforcing the importance of developing knowledge through any situation.
