Field Trip to Royal Palace

For the second field trip of the week, Bluebird British International School students went to the Royal Palace. The Brown Owls and Green Parrots toured the grounds to study the history and architecture of the palace buildings. This field trip was directly related to the IPC unit, “Buildings and Structures.” The students in both classes have been looking at the history of structures and the roles different buildings play in society. The opportunity to see one of Cambodia’s most iconic and beautiful buildings was the perfect way to reinforce concepts introduced in class. In order to fully integrate the field trip experience, the students are conducting research projects during their ICT classes as well. They will be exploring the history of the Silver Pagoda and Cambodian Naga. The students were respectful of space, tradition and other people as well as following all rules and guidelines to the letter. Bluebird offers all students a field trip every term. These adventures are always directly related to the student’s IPC studies and are designed to enrich what they are already learning. Providing dynamic learning is an essential tool for any educator and the ability to utilize the resources available throughout Cambodia is one of Bluebird’s greatest strengths.
